Lake Dallas ISD is accepting applications for a highly motivated teacher-coach to join the Lake Dallas Falcon Athletic Department. This position will coach football and track at Lake Dallas High School while teaching Pre-Athletics and Physical Education at Lake Dallas Middle School.
We are seeking a coach who is committed to developing student-athletes physically, academically, and personally while supporting a vertically aligned athletic program from middle school through high school.
High School Football
Serve as a varsity assistant football coach.
Coach an assigned position based on experience and program needs.
Assist with practice planning, film breakdown, scouting, game preparation, and game-day responsibilities.
Participate in the offseason strength, speed, and conditioning program.
Assist with equipment, facilities, inventory, and other football operations.
Build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, staff, and the community.
Support the development of sub-varsity and middle school football programs.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach.
High School Track and Field
Serve as an assistant track and field coach.
Coach assigned events based on experience and program needs.
Assist with practices, meets, athlete supervision, equipment, and facility preparation.
Promote multi-sport participation and year-round athletic development.
Help build a competitive and unified boys’ and girls’ track program.
Middle School Pre-Athletics and Physical Education
Teach assigned Pre-Athletics and Physical Education classes at Lake Dallas Middle School.
Provide age-appropriate instruction in movement skills, fitness, strength, speed, coordination, and athletic fundamentals.
Prepare students for successful participation in middle school athletics.
Maintain a safe, structured, positive, and highly active learning environment.
Develop lesson plans and assessments aligned with district curriculum and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
Collaborate with middle school and high school coaches to ensure vertical alignment.
Fulfill all professional responsibilities associated with a classroom teaching assignment.
Required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate or eligibility for appropriate Texas certification.
Certification appropriate for the assigned teaching responsibilities.
Knowledge of effective football, track, strength and conditioning, and physical education practices.
Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to meet the physical demands associated with coaching and physical education.
Ability to work before school, after school, evenings, weekends, and during the summer as required.
Must meet all Lake Dallas ISD, UIL, and State Board for Educator Certification requirements.
Preferred
Previous successful football and track coaching experience.
Experience coaching a specific football position or coordinating a position group.
Experience coaching one or more track and field event areas.
Experience teaching middle school Pre-Athletics or Physical Education.
Knowledge of strength training, speed development, movement instruction, and injury prevention.
CDL or willingness to obtain appropriate bus-driving certification.
Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
